Archiving and Problematic of Terminology and Practice: Convergence and Separation of Libraries and Archives

Through this study, we seek to address the archiving of the web in terms of term and practice as one of the responsibilities of libraries and archive institutions. Shed light on the ambiguity surrounding it, as well as the term web archive that is the result of this activity. Therefore, this study represents an attempt to review (1) Documentary production in the web environment. The dynamic, communicative and interactive characteristics that make it difficult to define this production that naturally distinguish it from other environments, traditional and electronic.
In addition, to delving into (2) the problem of the terms, web archiving and web archiving and their uses, and the possible overlap between this use in libraries and archives, by discussing the validity of use these two terms in the web environment. Moreover, touching on the impact of archival practices on web archiving activities. (3) Finally, this study will provide a brief history of web archiving activities around the world between national libraries and national archives centers, NGOs, as well as other institutions and initiatives.
