Abstract

In this article, we will examine how real places are transformed by the author’s pen into true witnesses and actors of one of the most significant tragedies of our time. It is a complex and polyphonic work with an original narrative structure. It addresses themes related to contemporary history. It is divided into four parts, echoing the movements of a musical concerto. This structure allows for the combination of different stories and multiple perspectives, creating a symphony of voices and memories.

The title of the novel brings together two major historical events that shaped the twentieth century: the Nakba and the Holocaust, in the spirit of a musical concerto. The concerto structure is not merely a stylistic device; it is intrinsically linked to the novel’s message, enabling Rabai al-Madhoun to weave a dense and moving narrative framework.
