Abstract

This research aims to reveal the pragmatic dimensions in dramatic discourse through the study of Azzedine Djellaoudji’s "Al-Ta'is wa al-Na'is," by examining the functional-communicative dimension of dialogue using pragmatic concepts such as speech acts established by Austin and Searle, as well as the conversational implicatures embedded within the theatrical dialogue, while exploring the communicative process in terms of the speaker, receiver, context, and intentions.
