Abstract

This research aims to introduce the efforts of Algerian scholars in preserving the traditional educational method centered on memorizing and explaining grammatical texts (Mutun), highlighting its importance in mastering grammar and the pivotal role of religious Zawiyas in teaching and spreading the Arabic language; while the widespread authorship of these texts in recent centuries is sometimes viewed as a decline in creativity, this perspective overlooks their profound pedagogical value—an area where Maghreb scholars notably excelled over their Eastern counterparts—as the educational curriculum in the Arab Maghreb remained long dependent on these texts, a legacy sustained by generations of distinguished Algerian scholars who enriched the linguistic library with their invaluable works.
