Social networks and their role in the development of libraries and their services

Social networks are one of the most prominent applications of the second generation of the web, which is characterized by interaction and enriching the role of users in enriching the content. To reach and attract new categories of users and eliminate temporal, geographical, linguistic and other barriers between the library and its patrons, where they can benefit from its services in an easy and comfortable way wherever they are. The position of the library among its patrons, especially in light of the presence of other modern alternatives to the library, which are considered as outlets for information retrieval. It also achieves communication and interaction between users, brings them together in interest groups on various topics, and exchanges information and documents in different forms, which is a fertile environment for the presentation and marketing of various library services.
