The Sociological Approach To Civilization in the Thought of Malik bin Nabi and Ibn Khaldun

This research aims to witness the history of mankind from time immemorial, man’s attempt and his quest to achieve his numerous and renewed requirements and ambitions in all areas of life, in order to achieve multiple achievements and gains, which is expressed by the term civilization, and the concept of the latter has seen a difference in its interpretation and conditions for achieving it from one society to another. It contributes to the multiplicity of visions and the diversity of sociological trends that dealt with the concept in an accurate and in-depth manner. Among those who delved into the concept from different sides and angles, we find the scholar Ibn Khaldun and the thinker Malik bin Nabi, both of whom dealt with the concept of civilization and were creative in trying to formulate an integrated theory about it, which is what they are trying This research paper explains it through, clarifying Ibn Khaldun’s feat and creative analysis in dealing with the concept of civilization and explaining the reasons for its establishment of an accurate conception of the stages of its formation and manifestations of its strength, in order to clarify the reasons for the weakness that surround it and lead to its demise, all by focusing on the concepts of nervousness and nomadism, then addressing the perception of the Algerian thinker Malik Bennabi, who He is considered one of the most prominent contemporary thinkers who absorbed Khaldunian thought and delved into his writings. Ibn Khaldun’s influence on Ibn Malik was evident, especially with regard to building civilization. Also, Malik bin Nabi’s stay in France was an opportunity for him to delve deeper into the secrets of Western civilization, which he discovered its falsity, and realized that solving the problem of all A people lies in advancing its thought and deepening the understanding of the foundations and factors of building civilization, focusing on building the human being, which we will try to clarify in this paper by addressing its approach to civilization through the concepts of culture and ideas.
