submission-guidelines

The Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (JOSSH) aims to facilitate the clear and organized publication of original research. This guide provides authors with essential instructions for preparing manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s policies and international publishing standards.

Article Format

The journal accepts two main article types: Original Research Articles and Registered Reports. Authors are encouraged to write concisely and clearly. Manuscripts should ideally not exceed 4,500 words, excluding the abstract, references, and figure legends. Titles should be clear, concise (no more than 20 words), and reflect the scientific message of the article.

Abstract

The abstract should provide a brief introduction and summary of the main results without citations. It should be unstructured (no subheadings) and not exceed 200 words.

Keywords

Up to six keywords or key phrases may be provided to reflect the main content of the article and facilitate indexing.

Manuscript

The manuscript file should begin with a title page containing author affiliations and contact information, identifying the corresponding author. The main text can be organized according to the research needs, and the following structure is generally recommended:

  • Introduction
  • Results (with subheadings as appropriate)
  • Discussion
  • Methods
  • References
  • Acknowledgements and Author Contributions
  • Data Availability Statement
  • Additional Declarations (e.g., competing interests)

Cover Letter

The cover letter should include:

  • Affiliation and contact information of the corresponding author
  • A brief explanation of why the work is suitable for JOSSH
  • Suggested potential reviewers, or names of reviewers to exclude

Revised Manuscripts

When revisions are requested, authors should submit a revised manuscript addressing all required changes, accompanied by a detailed response to each reviewer comment. The manuscript may be sent back to the original reviewers or to new reviewers at the discretion of the editorial board.

Methods

Experimental procedures and analytical techniques should be described in sufficient detail to allow reproducibility. Commercial sources for materials should be indicated when necessary, risks should be addressed, and ethical approvals for studies involving humans or animals should be reported.

References

References must be formatted accurately, using sequential numbering within the text and citing only published or accepted sources. Authors are encouraged to limit the total number of references per article.

Figures and Tables

All tables and figures should be submitted in editable format (Word or LaTeX), not as images. Multi-part figures should be combined into a single file. All figures should be numbered sequentially with a concise legend for each part.

Data Availability

A statement describing the availability of the research data must be included. Authors are encouraged to use public repositories whenever possible.

Ethics Declarations

Ethical approvals must be included for research involving humans or animals. Informed consent should be confirmed for all participants or their legal guardians, where applicable.

Supplementary Information

Supplementary information (e.g., additional tables, figures, videos) should be provided in separate files to facilitate peer review. All supplementary content must be clear and consistent with the style of the main text.
