This field work study conducted in the city of M'sila aimed at revealing the effectiveness of a family counselling program to enhance wives’ communication skills. In order to verify the hypotheses of the study, we adopted the quasi-experimental method on one group with pre and post-tests. The treatment that consisted of (11) counselling sessions was applied over (10) weeks on a sample of (11) volunteer wives married for a period between 3 to 10 years. They were chosen after the announcement of the program in the Community Development Association called« My Family»- in the city of M'sila - where the program was implemented. To check the psychometric properties of the program and to verify and test the hypotheses, the marital communication skills test prepared by the researcher was applied before and after the application of the program and was analysed using SPSS version 25. We reached the following results:
- There are differences between the mean scores of the sample in marital communication skills before and after the treatment.
- There are differences between the mean scores of the sample in listening skills before and after applying the program.
- There are differences between the mean scores of the study sample in speaking skills before and after the treatment.
- There are differences between the mean scores of the study sample in marriage dialogue before and after the treatment.
- There are differences between the mean scores of the study sample in managing emotions before and after the treatment.
