A study on the level of mental resilience and healthy behavior in diabetics- Type I - Field study at Al-Zahrawi Hospital in M’sila

Abstract

The current study aimed at identifying the level of mental resilience and health behavior among diabetics in the first type of diabetes. It also aimed at identifying gender differences in mental resilience and health behavior. In order to verify the study hypotheses, the analytical descriptive approach was adopted. To reach the results, the study used a health behavior measure prepared by the researchers Al Samadi Abd Al-Majid and Al-Samadi Abd Al-Ghafour, and a psychological resilience measure prepared by the researcher. The study sample consisted of (41) patients with type I diabetes. After statistical treatment, the study reached the following results:

  • The level of psychological resilience among diabetics in Al-Zahrawi hospital is high.
  • The level of healthy behavior among diabetic patients in Al-Zahrawi Hospital is high.
  • There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of diabetics at Al-Zahrawi Hospital on the psychosocial resilience scale attributed to the gender variable (male-female).
  • There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of diabetes patients at Al-Zahrawi Hospital on the health behavior scale, which are attributed to the gender variable (male-female).
