Abstract

The term "university" carries many connotations, including the gathering of diverse branches of knowledge and serving as a hub for those seeking to synthesize the learning acquired throughout their earlier educational stages. As a cornerstone for receiving various sciences and fields of knowledge, advancing higher education requires prioritizing modern didactics; they are the proper path for equipping learners with linguistic skills, enabling them to use language correctly across all contexts and solve learning-related challenges.

Given its significance, the concept of the Textual Approach has gained considerable attention in the educational field. This approach consists of a set of mechanisms used to engage with, analyze, and simplify the text. Since the text is the fundamental unit and the central axis of all learning activities, the textual approach treats it as the primary starting point for linguistic lessons, viewing language as an integrated whole that is only segmented when necessary.

Accordingly, this study poses the following questions: How effective is the textual approach in the university educational process? And what is the role of Higher Schools in adopting this approach for the benefit of their students?
