Abstract

Disruptive behavior disorders are considered to be the most important disorders in the psychopathology of both child and adolescent. It is basically related to two main disorders which are the Oppositional Defiant Disorder and the Conduct Disorder. This research paper will mainly focus on how these disorders may have serious negative repercussions on the individual and his entourage. Thus we will try to identify them in terms of clinical characteristics ( diagnostic criteria and patterns according to the statistical and diagnostic manual of mental disorders and the International Classification of Diseases). After that we will shed light on what other research papers and studies have said about the relationship between these two disorders. In other words, we will try to find out an answer for the question posed in our research work which is whether the Oppositional Defiant disorder and the Conduct Disorder are to be considered separately or the first is an initial version of the latter.
