This article aims to expose the legal-political, technical, professional and economic constraints faced by the Algerian reformist press during the French occupation of Algeria. This press, along with schools, mosques and cultural clubs, played a key role in resurrecting Arab and Islamic national values against the occupation and French policy, by discussing the issues of the nation, awareness and trying to consolidate the moral, religious and cultural values of Algerian society. It is precisely for this reason that the reformist newspapers found themselves confronted by the occupation administration, which led to a number of legal, technical, professional constraints, as well as economic difficulties, which posed a great challenge to the activity and continuity of these newspapers.
