The contribution of improving the quality of university training in the preparation of students to the world of work -A field study on students in the third year « Licence » and first and second year « master »

Abstract

The present study aimed to assess the contribution’s degree of improving the quality of university training in the preparation of students to the world of work. The study was based on the analytical descriptive method, and our data collection tool was an electronic questionnaire. We have sent 420 questionnaires (from which we received and could use only 350) to students in the third year « Licence » and first and second year « master » in different specialties over a number of Algerian Universities. The results of the study showed a very weak relationship between programs contents and teachers activities on the one hand, and the world of work requirements on the other hand. These findings indicate a weakness of the university training quality with regard to the importance and

necessity of the university contribution in responding to the labor market requirements and to social –economic requirements in general.
