Abstract

: According to Feuerbach, human religion represents the pinnacle of awareness of the nature and essential essence of man and this religion has its roots in Hegel’s philosophy of religion, this explains the closeness between Hegel and Feuerbach, especially during   Feuerbach’s youth. Religion formed an important sector in Hegel's philosophical architecture, and him admiring Greece, shaped his concept of common religion. He distinguished between two types of religion: the subjective religion, which relates to the heart and love and calls for work and freedom, and is the only one worthy of the name religion. As for the objective religion, which is concerned with the outward appearance and restricts the mind and will, it is considered abstract theology. Churchmen turned the Christian religion into a sterile theology ،this is what made man a stranger to the earth, this alienation is overcome by the person regaining his qualities, especially freedom and self-possession again. Christianity replaced the old known religion due to the change in the political situation and the loss of freedom, and from here Christianity provided the absolute for these individuals who lost political freedom, it was not strange that they adhered to a paradoxical principle. This metaphysical conception of God is a conception of human creativity.

Hegel believes that the topics of religion and philosophy are the truth, contradicting the philosophers of the Enlightenment era. There is no doubt that Feuerbach was one of the Young Hegelians, who were imbued with the ideas of their teacher Hegel, but it was not the influence of the critic. Despite the closeness between Hegel and Feuerbach in some situations, especially in visualizing the concept of religion and the meaning of God, what can be confirmed is that Feuerbach presented a realistic, sensual, anthropological philosophy that is completely different from the Hegelian idealistic metaphysics.
