The degree of counseling needs of the Professional formation traines- A Field study in the vocational training sector of the state of M'sila

Abstract

The current study aimed to investigate the degree of counseling needs: (psychological, physical, family, social, and vocational needs), among urban vocational training trainees in the formation Professional training, and education sector in M’sila. In order to achieve the objectives of the study of a descriptive nature, the researchers designed a list of counseling needs consisting of (44) test items distributed over these areas, where they were applied to a simple random sample consisting of (198) trainees, of whom (124) were males and (74) females. They were randomly selected from the records of the beginning of the training course “October 2022” in some training institutions, which were randomly selected from the wilaya card of formation professional institutions in the wilaya. The study found the following results:

There are statistically significant differences between the arithmetic mean (93.91) and the hypothetical mean (88) in the total score for counseling needs (psychological and physical, family, social and professional), which is a function in the significance test (T) (6.558), with a significant score for the test (Sig = 0.000), and the level of significance (0.05).

While the study found that there were no statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.05) in the tested counseling needs due to the variables: gender, educational level: (elementary, intermediate, secondary, university), family status of the parents: (stable, separated, father or mother deceased), the nature of housing.

The study recommended the need for a counseling program to accompany the trainees in these fields from the beginning of the training path aimed at enhancing self-confidence, reducing the degree of anxiety and tension, enhancing motivation for training, developing job search skills, building a personal and professional project, enhancing family communication skills, and developing skills in building social relationships. Positive and effective.
