This study aims at knowing the real role of Algerian University in establishing ethical
values and instilling the spirit of citizenship among the student of the Arabic language and its
literature by answering the following main question: To what extent does the Algerian
university play its role in establishing the ethic and patriotic student awareness?
Through a field study at both universities of Guelma and Annaba, relying on the tool of
"interview" with the randomly selected sample of "the students of Arabic language and its
literature". We have chosen the descriptive approach and its analytical, statistical
mechanisms in analyzing the findings that have concluded to the absence of the university's
role in educating, implementing the value and behavioral aspect of the student in the
university environment. This has strengthened the constitution of a fragile and weak
generation, totally lacking a sense of ethical, and patriotic responsibility.
We were keen to present some strategies and proposals that contribute to the advancement
of the student's level in values and ethics in order to create a vigilant, educated citizen.
