The Proficiency Of The Professor And Its Reflection On The Quality In University Education Field Approach
Abstract
As a result of knowledge explosion, rapid scientific and technological advancement, and the openness intellectually, socially and cognitively, new needs have emerged for wide human sectors, the most important of which is a strong desire for knowledge, and overwhelming yearning to understand the universe, and uncover the unknown. This has led to its reflection on the university, which has become required to spread education and technology on a larger scale and prepare a greater number of specialists in various types of advanced technology, then the university fell under great pressure as the number of students increased, Which caused a noticeable decrease in the levels of university's education at times due to the high share of the faculty member from the students or the lack of the student’s share in the educational and extension service, so this study aimed to clarify the roles of university faculty members in addition to showing the relationship between the quality of education and the quality of faculty members, With an emphasis on the importance and role of professional development in achieving high quality in higher education, the study has shown that the roles of a faculty member are generally limited to teaching, evaluation, instruction, guidance, authorship, translation, professional development, community service and scientific research were classified in four main areas related to students, the educational institution and the local community and its role towards itself. As for quality requirements and their relationship with faculty members, in the light of their inputs it appears that quality of education requires the quality of faculty members themselves as an effective component in achieving that, and the study indicated the means of professional development, and the importance of professional development in raising the level of inputs, processes and outputs in the educational system, especially as professional development will be positively reflected on the development levels of performance in various areas, and the achievement of individual commitment and responsibility and confirm the spirit of teamwork, these elements form the basics of individual and collective responsibility in achieving the quality of education.
