The reality of distance education in Algerian universities during the COVID-19 pandemic: between challenge and the inevitability of digital transformation.

Abstract : With the outbreak of the Corona virus and its transformation into a global pandemic, the Algerian government realized the importance of digitizing the university as an imperative for the dire health situation, and the importance of keeping pace with the digital transformation that helps develop distance education technologies on the one hand and improve the classification of Algerian universities regionally and internationally on the other hand. but Algeria, like other third world countries, still faces a set of challenges, such as the lack of qualified human resources to supervise digitization programs and also the weak Internet flow, which requires redoubling efforts at various levels to provide the appropriate environment for digital transformation as well as the development of distance education technologies.
