Abstract

 This paper aimes to shed light on the semantic and pragmatic cotexts in relation to islamic jurisprudence , it shows that jurists in deriving legal rulings, did not confine themselves to verbal semantics alone. Rather the study focuses on the pragmatic criteria - particulary – context and intention that have played a key role in regulating legal meaning in islamic jurisprudence especialy in Al Ihkam Fi Osoul Al Ahkam book.
