Abstract

The translation process is an intermediate operation that takes place between the
source text and the target one, it is the central part where interpretive activities and
decision-making take place. It focuses on the perception of meaning by analyzing
units of meaning in the context that accompanies them, and needs both linguistic
and extra-linguistic knowledge. Is it helpful to become aware of this process in the
practice of translation, or does it work only for the good of translation didactics
and translators training?
