Abstract

This study aims to read some of the poet Othman Loucif's poetry collections using the mechanism of intertextuality. This mechanism represents a hidden dialogue between texts, in which the poet opens up to religious, mythological, historical, and cultural memory, reshaping them according to his own perspective. Understanding the context of this phenomenon and exploring its depths required a methodological combination of description, analysis, and interpretation of poetic passages from the poet's poetry collections. This method aims to uncover the various forms of intertextuality he employed, highlight its artistic function in producing meaning and condensing significance, and the extent to which it expresses the poet's ideas and visions. The result is that the poet Othman Loucif is one of the most important contemporary poetic voices to have exploited this mechanism extensively, deeply, and professionally. He has been able to imbue his poetic texts with dense and diverse symbolic and semantic energies, opening the door to reading and interpretation for the recipient.
