Analysis of the discursive capture strategies implemented in the titles of Pierre Bellemare’s books

The title as a peritextual element is the most important constituent of a book. It is
only through him that readers decide to read the content. It is in this perspective
that authors use and abuse various discursive strategies to grab readers’ attention
in order to encourage them to buy their books. Thus, in this article we will discuss
the different linguistic, syntactic, rhetorical and pragmatic strategies used by the
author Pierre Bellemare in the construction of the titles of his collections of various
facts. The latter contain a number of true stories relating to the same theme or
relating social facts of different orders gathered in the same book with captivating,sometimes even enigmatic, titles
