Abstract

Marriage is of great importance on  individuals lives and societies, as it is the foundation of establishing healthy relationships between individuals and which is acknowledged by custom and assured by law, and in the view of what we observe of  prevailing marriage patterns in our society and which have an impact on individuals and the family as a whole, the them selected were" Remarriage and Its Impact on The

 Algerian Family cohesion "we aimed Through this study to learn about reality of family cohesion in the light of remarriage and the presence of step-mother or step-father 's. Through this study, we aimed to build a relatively scientific visualization about remarriage in Algerian society, and to contribute in enriching the research field with empirical data. As well as conducting a field study and realistic analyzes and linking them with the theoretical data which were obtained in order to reach realistic and scientific results that are taken as the basis for further research and to in-depth in it. We have used in this study the descriptive and analytical method which is concerned in accurately describing the phenomenon as it is in reality, a sample of thirty husbands and wives who re-married for the second time was selected. The study concluded that remarriage affects positively family cohesion through consensus and dialogue, but in a few other cases we have seen a negative impact on family cohesion and it also leads to difficulty in family reconciliation. The importance of these results lies in trying to find solutions and ways to alleviate the problems that the family system suffers from and find ways to maintain its balance and the cohesion of relations among its members in the presence of a new individual.
