Abstract

 This study aims to reveal the phenomenon of psychological burn out in its three dimensions resulting from the continuous psychological pressure of a sample of specialized educators working in the field of the care of children with special needs and the most important sources. it also aimed to identify the most important strategies used by these educators to cope with these pressures. To verify this, the descriptive and analytical approach was adopted, the size of the study sample being 20 specialized educators from the group of specialized educators working at the Educational Medical Center for Mentally Deficient Children in Tlemcen.

The study tool consisted of the “Maslach” measure of psychological burnout in its modified Arabic version, which is subject to reliability and stability procedures. And the study concluded with a set of results, the most important of which are:

- Educators in the field of intellectual disability suffer from constant psychological stress, which takes the form of psychological burnout in its three dimensions.

- There are statistically significant differences in the three dimensions of psychological burnout between male and female educators working in the educational medical center for mentally retarded children.

- There are statistically significant differences in the three dimensions of psychological burnout among educators working in the educational medical center for mentally retarded children due to the social situation variable.

- Faced with psychological stress, educators working in the field of intellectual disability use adaptation strategies based on emotion.
