The suffering of the family of a person with cancer- Systematic study

Abstract

The present study came to clarify the way in which the family takes care of their child with cancer, as well as to highlight the impact of this disease on their family system (structure), the clinical approach was chosen at the using the case study depending on the variables of the study, this study was applied to a family with a child with cancer who was at the CHU of Tlemcen –psychology unit- Algeria, and we used the tools following clinics: clinical interview, clinical observation, scale of family relations and correspondence between family members prepared by ''Moss'' (1974) and arabicized by ''Fethi Abdel-Rahim and Hamed El Feki''(1980) and the systemic analysis test of the LE SAGA affiliation group prepared translated and adapted by Hadj Slimane Fatima Zahra (2015). Finally, the results of the study revealed that the child with cancer negatively affects the family system (structure) (the level of family relationships and interactions).

The results obtained indicated the significant rise of degrees after the conflict of family interaction and this dimension indicates the extent to which the vent for the conflict of interaction and the resulting anger and aggression as a characteristic of the family of a child with cancer, followed by after the control and after guidance towards achievement and achievement, in which the family obtained scores ranging from low and medium on the scale of family relations and family matching between family members, as for the distance of cultural mental guidance, which indicates the extent of family interest The child with cancer with mental, cultural and social activities, and encouraging its members to participate in these areas, has also known a clear decline in encouraging its members towards social dialogue and cultural activities, and in the end, with regard to the dimension of cohesion, after independence, after freedom of expression of feelings, after guidance towards positive promotion and after organization, as for the low degrees after recreational guidance, we can attribute its cause either to the lack of experience of the family of the child with cancer and its lack of awareness of the importance of recreational means.
