Abstract

This study aims to know the role of physical and sports activity in developing the psychological aspect of the physically disabled in its emotional dimensions, self-confidence and

nervousness, by conducting a comparative study in between practitioners of physical and sports     activity and non-practitioners of it. For this purpose, the field study was conducted in the city of Setif on a sample of (100) physically disabled persons, half of them practicing physical and sports activity and the other half non-practicing, using the descriptive and comparative approaches and the questionnaire as a tool for data collection. The field study confirmed the existence of differences in the level of the psychological aspect (the emotional dimension, after Self-confidence and the nervous dimension) for the physically disabled among practitioners and non-practitioners of physical and sports activity for the benefit of practitioners, as follows:

There are differences in the level of the emotional dimension of the physically disabled between practitioners and non-practitioners of physical and sports activity in favor of practitioners. Where The study concluded that the practice of physical and sports activity by the disabled contributes to the reduction of their emotional level.

There are differences in the level of self-confidence dimension for the physically disabled between practitioners and non-practitioners of physical and sports activity in favor of practitioners. Where the study concluded that the practice of physical and sports activity by the disabled contributes to raising the level of their self-confidence, the disabled who do not practice physical activity and sports have a medium level of self-confidence, while the level of self-confidence of the disabled practitioners is high.

There are differences in the level of nervous dimension of the physically disabled between practitioners and non-practitioners of physical and sports activity in favor of practitioners. Where the study concluded that the practice of physical and sports activity by the disabled contributes to improving the level of their nervous dimension. The disabled people who do not practice physical activity and sports have a moderate level of nervous distance, while the practicing disabled have a low level of nervous dimension.
