Abstract

This study sought to describe a modern technique in psychotherapy based on exposure to virtual reality، which has become simulating the real world today. The most widespread and has an impact on the life of the individual and society. Then، in this study، the characteristics of exposure therapy with a theoretical and methodological reference to cognitive behavioral therapy are clarified. The latter، which previous studies have proven، is among the most successfl psychological treatments، especially in the treatment of anxiety disorders. Exposure therapy is either for the imaginary or living reality and in view of the problems and difficulties that may result from the application of this technique، whether imaginary or real.

The studies that used the technology of exposure to virtual reality have proven its effectiveness and that the therapist can perform his role، especially when the patient is with virtual people، and virtual reality also allows the embodiment of reality and the creation of a safe and controlled environment that works to reduce confinement and anxiety by facing situations and Anxiety situations in an environment similar to real life.
