Abstract

Islamic Sufism, which emerged in the middle of the second Hijri century, constituted the most mysterious and most controversial episode on the purely doctrinal, scientific and philosophical level, or even on the artistic level. In this article, we are going to talk about Sufism in the Arab-Islamic culture. We want to clarify as much as possible its history, terminology, ideologies, and knowledge, especially as it is a vast science that brings together various sciences, such as the sciences of the Qur’an, Al-hadith, Al-Fiqh, Sharia, theology, philosophy, literature, rhetoric and other sciences.
