Abstract

Abstract: This research paper discus two of the most prominent figures in the French-language novel, Assia Djebar and Rachid Boudjedra, and examines the most important Western critical opinions and positions regarding the contents of their texts and the artistic tools employed in their narration. This paper also aims to examine the nature of the relationship between what Assia Djebar and Rachid Boudjedra’s texts present as texts that fall within the “Francophone” writing trend and the general trend of Western criticism in attracting everything related to the Western style in thought, language and perception, all within the context of presenting justifications for the reception of each of their literatures in the Western cultural environment.
