The material sources for writing the history of ancient Mesopotamia
Keywords:
King lists, cylinder seals, messages, annalsAbstract
In the discussion, we address the excavations that have been found during operations conducted in ancient Iraq on cuneiform tablets, composed on cylinder seals, stones, and clay tablets. These include lengthy descriptions of temples, palaces, and other construction projects. Additionally, several king lists (king lists or king lists) have been found, dating back to different and sequential periods, written in Sumerian, Akkadian, Babylonian, and Assyrian texts. The historical events of ancient Iraq can also be known through the exchanged messages between kings and rulers, in addition to annals containing news of kings and temple texts. All the aforementioned tablets are primary sources for writing the history of ancient Mesopotamia.
