The Critical Rooting Approach to Arabic Literature Issues by Abdul-Malik Murtad: Selected models.

This study explores the critical rooting approach to issues of Arabic literature as articulated by the Algerian critic Abdelmalek Mortad. Its principle aim is to understand the foundations of this pioneering critical project in the Arab world and its manifestations, in both critical and literary writing. Providing an ontological overview of the origins of ideas, concepts, and issues prevalent in the contemporary cultural arena, the study proceeds to examine the levels of epistemic awareness and methodological engagement as a means to reach their procedural dimensions. Furthermore, it opens the door for the discussion of the functional updating of these topics, which are commonly addressed in Arabic heritage texts, seeking their revival within their pragmatic contexts. Consequently, this will, hopefully, allow the epistemic extension of Arab critical and literary thought across its outstanding milestones.
