Abstract

The study aimed to reveal the correlation between self-confidence and academic adjustment among first-year secondary school students, as well as to identify the extent of differences in the level of self-confidence and academic adjustment in terms of gender (males/females) and specialization. (Common trunk Arts/Common trunk Experimental Sciences), based on the descriptive analytical approach. To achieve the objectives of the study, we applied two scales: the self-confidence scale prepared by “Sidney Schroeger” (1980) and the academic adjustment scale prepared by “Yogman” (1979). This is after calculating their psychometric properties and confirming their suitability for application on a sample of (120) first-year secondary school students who are pursuing their studies at both “Zamoum Mohamed” Secondary School and “Dahmani Mohamed”. And "Laarbas Ali" in the state of "Tizi Ouzou", who were chosen using a simple random method, and after collecting the data, it was processed statistically using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences.
