Abstract

In this study, we try to detect the difficulties that prevent the proper application of the approach to competencies in the teaching of French as a foreign

language at the secondary level, according to the opinions of teachers. The two researchers speculated that there was a set of divided difficulties between teachers, students, and the school setting, or a field study was undertaken to test the study's hypotheses using a questionnaire made up of 11. This questionnaire is intended for a sample of 27 teachers working in high schools in the wilaya of M’sila. The results obtained showed that the only difficulty linked to the teachers was the lack of training in APC, while the other difficulties confirmed by the teachers questioned were linked to the students such as: the low level of the French language, the lack of motivation, and also the lack of self-training. The difficulties linked to the school environment were good: the lack of teaching resources, the high number of students in one class, the number of hours devoted to French, insufficient with a somewhat long training program.
