Abstract

This study aims to identify the level of training needs for school and vocational guidance and counseling counselors according to comprehensive quality standards, and to determine differences in training needs due to academic specialization and experience. To achieve the aim of the study, the incidental sample of this descriptive study consisted of 36 counselors in some secondary schools at Batna. The study tool was training needs' questionnaire prepared by the researchers. We used the social statistical package program (SPSS) to analyze the data. The study’s most important results are: School and vocational guidance counselors have high training needs in the care and following-up quality and evaluation and studies quality, and the average needs in the school media quality and school and vocational guidance and counseling quality. Moreover, there are differences in the type of training needs for guidance counselor due to the academic specialization effect for organization and work psychology, and there are differences in the type of training needs for guidance counselor due to experience effect for a group (1- 5 years). Consequently, the two researchers recommended that it should give attention to counselors’ training needs through organizing training courses and workshops. Carried out in courses and training days organized by the guidance centers.
