Abstract

The phenomenon of reluctance to study, especially among high school students, is one of the phenomena that are now sounding the alarm bells in the school and the education system as a whole after its danger has increased and it became a reason for thousands of school dropouts every year, and given the recent development of the concept of education, amendments have been introduced. According to its systems and courses, extracurricular activities have emerged in the modern school as parallel classes to the basic school systems, meaning the activities and sports practices that students do outside of the formal classroom in outside of school hours and are inside or outside the educational institution and have athletic, psychological, social and ethical goals. Because of the importance of the practice of sport in schools, we tried in this study to highlight the contribution of extracurricular sporting activity to the reduction of the phenomenon of reluctance to study among secondary school students, to better understand the extent of the contribution of class sports activity to strengthening the educational and educational pillars in secondary school and their achievement. At the required levels, and for this we used the descriptive approach, and to collect evidence on the phenomenon, we distributed A statement based on a sample of the estimated 250 students, and after collecting data and presenting the results and Having subjected them to a statistical treatment, we concluded that extracurricular mathematical activity contributes to reducing the phenomenon of reluctance to study among high school students, This is mainly due to the positive atmosphere created by the extra-curricular sports activities within the institution, which reflects positively on the students' psyche, their commitment and their educational attainment .
