Abstract

This study at hand aims at identifying the level of apperception of teachers in intermediate education to the foundations of constructing achievement tests in the light of modern educational reforms. Also, to uncover the differences between their apperception level according to the variants of educational qualification and professional experience. The study sample was composed of (130) teacherswho were randomly chosen from four middle schools from Sidi Lakhdar province of Mostaganem during the school year (2017- 2018). In this study, the researcher followed the descriptive approach which is convenient for such researches. To achieve the study’s objectives, a questionnaire was used to measure apperception level of foundations of constructing achievement tests, designed by the researcher and includes (32) parts distributed upon three dimensions and this after verifying both of its validity and reliability. To process the results, the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program was used. After statistical analysis process, findings show that apperception level of intermediate education’s teachers to the foundations of constructing achievement testsunder modern education reforms was medium for most and high for the minority, and there were no statistical significant differences among the average scores of this apperception due to the variables of educational qualification and professional experience. These results were discussed related to theoretical perspective, to previous studies and characteristics of study sample. Study concluded that there is a necessity of training courses for teachers in the field of assessment in general and in building representative tests in particular.
