Abstract

The present study is to reveal the relationship between attachment types and alexithymia. We used descriptive analysis and the application of affective attachment scale, and alexithymia scale on a sample of 102 students.

After statistical treatment, the study found the relationship between the unsafe attachment patterns of both parents as well as alexithymia as a total and sub-degree in its dimensions of difficulty in identifying feelings, describing feelings, and thinking with an external orientation.

All of these above-mentioned findings call for further research on the subject and for the expansion of its circle to carry out predictive studies to predict Alextimia through attachment patterns, as the few samples adopted in the current research have not allowed us to do so, in the hope of continuing in the future. We also call for strengthening the positive relationship between the family and their children to work to create safe and positive attachment patterns that contribute to meeting the needs of different children, including emotional, all of which are a call from us to reduce the increasingly widespread mental disorders, including cycosum disorders, which are no secret to the extent to which Alextemia causes their emergence.
