The concept of alcohol and drug addiction is a very important topic, as it is one of the concepts that is increasingly gaining the attention of scientists and researchers, especially psychologists and neuroscientists, on the assumption that these drugs affect the human nervous system and its behaviors, as a result, current research is aimed at understanding the neuropsychological mechanisms that occur in the human brain as a result of drug and alcohol use and dependence, which ends with the destruction of the brain or nervous system. It was found through this research that the repeated use of these narcotic and intoxicating substances affects the neurotransmitters, where the chemical media, or what are called neurotransmitters, are affected by the drug and get used to it through its direct effect on the reward and pleasure centers in the brain, the reason drug addicts get used to it quickly is due to their feeling of psychological comfort in the brain and their psycho-physical balance, although this is not is only temporarily.
