Abstract

Creative drama is an artistic method that helps developing creativity potentials for children in a form of collective experiences, in which each child expresses himself and his experiences in form of characters, dialogue and events that creates a creative drama. with the help of a Coash or an animator that motivates the kids to think, feel and to developpe their imagination and creativity where every child does his best. Creative drama includes a producing original and unique ideas coaching, as well as coming up with as many ideas as possible in certain situations. While the current study aims to verify the relationship between creative drama and the development of creative thinking among primary school students, through creating and applying a counseling program that enables children to efficiently employ their creative abilities.

The study’s sample   consisted of 36 male and female students pursuing their studies at the primary school Iqra in the municipality of Bir Al-Jir in Oran, during the academic year 2018/2019. Where they were trained on artistic drama through applying a counseling program. asked to play dramatic roles in certain situations under the supervision of the two researchers and in a specific amount of time.

After collecting and analyzing the results, the study concluded that the program offered to the students, which is based on creative dramatic activity, has greatly contributed in the development of creative thinking among these children. which means this program can be generalized to other groups of primary school students.
