Education on traffic safety in the Algerian family -Field study in Blida and Algiers -

Algeria is among the countries that have known in recent years a terrible rise in traffic accidents, prompting the State to take the measures to search for urgent solutions. Thinking about prevention solutions leads us to talk about education; perhaps the first concerned with this matter is the family as the basic environment for raising children. The current study aimed to identify the education on traffic safety in 133 families from Algeria and Balida, they were randomly selected from different ages, and different social, economic, and educational levels, including nuclear (father, mother, and children), including the extended one father, mother, children, uncles, grandfather, and grandmother).
The study instrument was a traffic education questionnaire prepared by the researcher. In order to achieve this goal, we have adopted the descriptive method based on describing the phenomenon as it is, analysing and interpreting it. The study found that the Algerian family identified in the wilayas of Blida and Algiers is a model that educates their children on traffic safety since childhood by using different methods and methods, according to what they hold of knowledge that differs from one family to another, and it insiders that the school is the second social institution, which completes its role In this field, through teaching the topic of traffic education in the book of civic education and conducting awareness campaigns for students and parents.
