Abstract

Psychological hardness with its three components of commitment, control and challenge is one of the positive personal variables that act as a psychological and preventive variable for many psychological and physical disorders, and it also has an impact on many psychological variables that health psychology focuses on in many of the topics it deals with recently, and among these variables we find the quality of life associated with health in the category of people with chronic diseases, especially the category of diabetics with its types, type 1 and type 2, and whether There is an effect of psychological hardness on the quality of healthy life of this category of patients. In addition to the extent to which psychological hardness can be a predictor of health-related quality of life in patients with both types of diabetes. Therefore, the current study aims to identify the correlation between

psychological hardness and health-related quality of life among patients with type 1 and type 2 diabetes, and the research sample consisted of (80) patients with both types of diabetes, in the city of M'sila for the year 2022. To achieve the objectives of this study, the Mekhaimer Psychological Hardness Scale (2006) and the health-Related Quality of Life Scale (SF-36 v2) prepared by the World Health Organization (WHO) were used, and the SPSS program was used in statistical processing. The study found a statistically significant correlation between psychological hardness and health-related quality of life, and it was possible to predict the health-related quality of life scores in people with diabetes through their scores on the psychological hardness scale.
