The relationship between the religion orientation and positive social behavior of the university students

Abstract

The main purpose of the study was to investigate the nature of the relationship between the religion orientation and positive social behavior of the university students. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, two measures were adopted: Religion orientation and Positive Social behavior after verifying their psychometric properties, on a sample of 132 students, selected on a random sampling method. After the statistical processing of the data, the study found that there was a significant positive correlation between the religion orientation and positive social behavior of university students, The results also showed no difference in the relationship between the religion orientation and positive social behavior according to the gender among the members of study sample.

The reason for these facts is due to the fact that religion provides the individual with a system of values, standards, principles and social criteria that represent the compass that governs his behavior and direction, and in the absence of these values and moral standards control, he will drift behind those immoral behaviors, which may sometimes reach the point of deviation, the latter of which has nothing to do with the instinct that God Almighty created us, and the changes that the current era has known in its various cultural, social, economic and political aspects have cast a shadow on human thinking. He lived under the pressure of circumstances, and without the religious spirituality in which he was raised, he would not have been able to overcome these circumstances and move forward to achieve the goals and objectives for which he was found, and thus he would find happiness in his good deeds and virtue.
