Abstract

The aim of the current study to identify the level of health compliance among cancer patients. which is among the most prevalent diseases that cause many health and economic complications, due to the imposed health rules and regulations represented in many aspects such as healthy nutrition and various therapeutic protocols such as drug doses and chemotherapy...etc, and knowing the extent of patient’s compliance to these health rules and regulations, which may be the decisive factor in their survival or death. The study also aimed to reveal the differences between the patients due to the gender variable. The Importance of the study lies in the fact that it studies an important field, in addition to the importance of the sample, as it represents a large segment of society. The study was conducted at Al-Zahrawi Hospital in the city of M'sila on a sample of 90 patients with cancer. In our current study, we relied on the descriptive approach, based on the health compliance scale of Abd al-Samad Soriya, from which 5 items were deleted, after calculating the psychometric characteristics, so it became composed of 10 items instead of 15 items. The results revealed a high level of compliance among the respondents, in addition to the absence of statistically significant differences due to the gender variable. Which may be due to the type of disease itself. Cancer requires a high compliance to health, and no male or female is exempt from it, as the disease is life-threatening.
