Abstract

Abstract : This research paper aims to monitor some of the views received by the distinguished figures of ancient Arab linguistic thought, by proposing an approach to what was mentioned in some modern linguistic studies, and comparing it with what was included in the ancient Arabic linguistic literature, and what modern linguistics literature indicates. It flashes you that many of the linguistic statements that the pioneers of the modern linguistic lesson came up with had previously been reached by the Arab linguistic thought, so the results proved by Abdel-Qaher Al-Jarjani and Ibn Jinni almost coincide with many of the statements made by some of the pioneers of structuralism, as is the case with F. de Saussure, and John Cohen, which we will try to address in part of this approach.
