The provisions of international law generally suffer from the problem of effectiveness. Despite the international community's efforts to achieve this effectiveness, a series of international sanctions within the provisions of Chapters VI and VII have even been implemented, sometimes resorting to the use of military force as a form of sanction. However, the reality on the ground shows that non-compliance with the provisions of international law is increasing, without any consideration for this penal system. This system is not only applicable to weak states, which leaves it in a state of doubt and uncertainty. This is due to the nature of the executive bodies that implement and impose sanctions, as well as the obscure and general and imprecise nature of the Charter's provisions. This leads to the interpretation of the texts according to the interests of the major states that hold veto power. All of this compels us to overcome these reasons and obstacles in order to achieve greater effectiveness of the provisions of international law through the system of international sanctions. Therefore, in this article, I will address the obstacles posed by international sanctions and the means of overcoming and activating them.
