Abstract

The confusion and failure to preserve lineage may lead to serious and undesirable consequences. For this reason, various legal systems have established different means and methods to ensure that every individual is attributed to their rightful lineage. In addition to the role played by well-known traditional methods, modern scientific techniques have emerged to establish lineage, foremost among them DNA fingerprinting, which this study will examine in light of its importance.
