The Impact of Globalization on the Family and the Role of Legislation in Protecting it
Keywords:
Family, globalization, Legislation, Family LawAbstract
The family constitutes the nucleus and fundamental unit of society, and its role is significant and influential at all levels—political, economic, and social—inasmuch as it represents the primary educational environment from which a productive individual emerges. Today, more than ever before, the family is exposed to unprecedented risks that threaten its cohesion and existence, particularly in light of what is commonly referred to as globalization. The objective of this study is to examine the most serious problems and crises confronting the family in the era of globalization, and to identify the position of the legislator as reflected in the amendment projects affecting family law in Algeria and other Islamic countries, which derive their legislation from Islamic Sharia.
