International trade contracts often rely on sea transport through routes such as the Strait of Hormuz. If the strait is unexpectedly closed after a contract is signed or goods are shipped, deliveries may be delayed, costs may rise, and disputes can occur. In such cases, the parties may need to renegotiate the contract, and the issue will be resolved under the applicable law.
