Abstract

Abstract It is the distinctive character of passions ( passions) in the résurrection novel by Leo Tolstoy that made us choose them as a subject for research into their amateur dimensions and revealing the frequency and manifestation of these passions within the main characters ( characters) of the novel, and what encouraged us to break into this field is the modest presence of such studies-the semiotics of passions - in our Arab environment .Therefore, what made this novel stand out for the whims is its departure from the ordinary, because it is contradictory to the point of contradiction in a tangled combination in which despair and hope, a sense of pleasure in return, a sense of pain and regret, love and hate are contained ... And other opposite whims . And since the hue of" love " forms the basis for the birth of the rest of the passions in the novel, it will be the subject of istna's study.
