Keywords:
The Arabic language, Errors, The mother tongueAbstract
Applied linguistics tries to stand at the most important obstacles facing learners of Standard Arabic, as well as the differences between formal and foreign languages in order to extract phonetic, morphological, grammatical and semantic differences, all of which represent an important aspect of the educational difficulties that must be taken into account during the development of special programs for teaching languages. Accurate diagnosis of the difficulties faced by learners enables the evaluation of the linguistic content and the preparation of educational materials that contribute effectively to facilitating the learning process. The difficulties facing a learner of a new language are primarily related to the differences between the language he is learning and the mother tongue. What are these difficulties that can stand in the way of learning classical Arabic and How can it be dealt with in the light of applied linguistics?
